All the latest dance moves were invented on this show such as locking and other moves from the 70's. Also the latest trends in fashion and hair were on this show because the girls and guys would wear outrageous things just to get noticed by the camera for tv. The first season of Soul Train started in 1971 and it was one of the best seasons even though it was the very first.

One of the most famous dance things that was created on Soul Train was called the Soul Train line. The Soul Train line is when they make up to lines parallel to each other and they rock at the same time. Then the first two people of both lines go down the middle and do their own dance or they can do a synchonized move together.
